What is Your Calling? (2/100)

Recently, I’ve been fortunate to receive kind words from a few direct clients about my work. Their feedback has truly lifted my spirits. I love my job as a subtitle translator because it allows me to contribute to the creative process while supporting others in achieving their goals.

One of the highlights of my career happened last year when a college professor reached out to me. They needed subtitles for a student’s film that was being submitted to an international film festival. I was thrilled to play a small role in helping a young filmmaker pursue their dream. To my delight, their film was later selected to compete in a category for another festival. This year, the same professor contacted me again, asking me to create subtitles for another up-and-coming director. It was deeply gratifying to know they were pleased with my work and trusted me enough to return.

Interestingly, my journey feels more connected than ever as my son also studies visual creation in college. This coincidence has helped me realize my particular passion for helping young directors share their work with audiences around the world. Supporting fresh talent and contributing to their work has been incredibly rewarding, and I look forward to continuing to support up-and-coming directors for years to come.
